Judo Team Tournament in Philadelphia

Army West Point Judo Team travelled to Philadelphia, PA, to compete against Drexel University in a team tournament. The tournament included several colleges such as Navy, Drexel, VCU, Temple, UPenn, and other small clubs in the Philadelphia area. The Army West Point Judo team was comprised of three teams: Teams A, B, and C; teams A and B consisted of the Advanced Judo players, while Team C was comprised of the Novice Judo Players. The Army West Point C Team fought against Navy’s B team and lost two matches to four; however, the Army West Point B team fought against Navy’s team because it was a traditional tournament bracket, and Navy was eliminated before having the opportunity to face the Army West Point B Team. As a result, the Army West Point B Team was first place on Mat 2, and the Army West Point C Team fought back up the bracket to win second place on Mat 2. As for Mat 1, the Army West Point B Team fought against Navy’s A Team and won four matches to two; the Army West Point A Team also went undefeated against all other college teams. As a result, Army West Point A Team was first place on Mat 1. In summary, Army West Point’s Judo teams were first place on both mats 1 and 2 and outscored all other college teams.
