NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Army West Point junior Kelsey Minato was named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association first team for second year in a row, the association announced Monday. Minato, who was selected to the All-Met first team following her sophomore campaign, was also voted to the All-Met second team after her first season at West Point.
The native of Huntington Beach, Calif., becomes just the second Black Knight to earn three All-Met accolades, joining Army West Point Hall of Famer Katie Macfarlane, who was a first-team selection in 2003-04 and drew second-team honors in 2001-02 and 2002-03. She also joins Lisa Russell and Cara Enright as the only players in program history to be named to the All-Met first team twice, as Russell earned first-team honors in 1992-93 and 1993-94 and Enright landed recognition in 2005-06 and 2006-07.
