Army West Point cow Nick Turner was selected the Patriot League Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, when it was announced by the league office on Thursday. Turner earned a spot on the five-man Patriot League Golf Academic All-League team as well. To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. Turner fired a 7-over par 223 to earn First-Team All-Patriot League honors with a fifth-place finish, while helping the Black Knights tie for second-place overall at the conference championship. The Reno, Nevada native is an electrical engineering major, carrying a 3.734 cumulative GPA, having earned a spot on the Dean's List in each of his five semesters at West Point.
