Cadets in Jordan Visit Aqaba

Cadets studying abroad in Jordan visited the coastal city of Aqaba in southern Jordan. The visit to Aqaba presented the cadets with a valuable opportunity to exercise their language skills and cultural awareness. Situated in the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea, Aqaba is Jordan's only seaport and it is nestled next to Israel and within close range of Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The visit exposed cadets to an array of Arabic dialects and placed them in situations where they were required to navigate everyday situations in a diverse population comprised of Jordanians, Saudis, Egyptians, Palestinians and Israelis.
