Rosoff Named to Johnny Bench Award Watch List

The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced that Army West Point catcher Jon Rosoff was named to the Johnny Bench Award watch list presented by BaseballSavings.com. The award is given annually to the top division one collegiate catcher. The list will be updated up until April 30. It will then be narrowed down to the semifinalists on May 16. The finalists will be named June 4. A final vote among the national committee will occur during the College World Series. All finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced at the 21st Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on June 28. Rosoff, a 2017 All-Patriot League First Teamer, was one of two players to have started in all 56 games for the Black Knights last season. He led the team in numerous categories, including a .362 batting average (tops in the Patriot League as well). He was first on the team in hits (71 – second in the conference), runs (43 – fourth in the league), slugging percentage (.454), and on-base percentage (.464 – first in the conference).
