Yearlings Alex Wilkinson of the Army West Point hockey team and Lynne Mooradian of the Army West Point women's track and field team were named the Corps Squad Scholar Athletes of the Month for February. Following a team-leading, four-point weekend versus Bentley on Feb. 16-17, Wilkinson was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week. He scored Army's first two goals and dished out an assist in a 5-1 win over Bentley. The yearling defenseman finished the weekend with two power play points. One of his goals on the first night was the game-winner, which was his fourth of the season. He now boasts 14 power play points, which is tied for sixth on the team. In his recent start for the hockey team versus Sacred Heart, Wilkinson recorded an assist in Army's 6-0 win.
Cadet Lynne Mooradian, currently ranks first in the class of 2020 and maintains a 4.230 cumulative GPA as a Mechanical Engineering major. Her department academic counselor states the following about her performance within her major: "Lynne Mooradian is the number one ranked cadet of 86 in the mechanical engineering major. She earned the top grade in ME201, Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, during the fall semester." While Cadet Mooradian is clearly one of the top academic performers at USMA, she also generously tutors her peers and assists them in their coursework as well. She was instrumental in her team's recent victory on Feb. 3 over Navy, as well as the team's second-place finish at the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 17-18. Read More
