Swimming & Diving Takes Second at League ChampionshipsThe Army West Point men's swimming and diving team claimed its sixth straight second-place finish at the Patriot League Championships after wrapping up the competition with 780.5 points. Navy finished on top with 990.5 points. Bucknell (411), Boston U. (406.5) and Loyola (286.5) rounded out the top five behind Army, with Lehigh (282.5), Colgate (167.5), American (118), Lafayette (114) and Holy Cross (108) finishing right behind. 780.5 points were the second-most in the league championships by an Army team in the last 16 seasons. Tom Ottman finished in second and set an Academy record in the 1650 free with his time of 15:07.22. He was the previous recorder holder in the event when he finished at 15:16.32 at last season's league championships.

The Army West Point women's swimming and diving team picked up its third straight second-place finish at the Patriot League Championships after ending the competition with 568 points. Navy went on to win the meet with 904.5 points. Lehigh (543) fell right behind Army, while Bucknell (423) and Boston U. (385) rounded out the top five. Loyola (250.5), Colgate (191), American (172), Holy Cross (107) and Lafayette (93) placed in the final five spots. The 568 points was the second-most at the league championships by an Army team in the last 16 years. Sabrina Mortell was the first Cadet in the pool on the final night of competition and she swam to a third-place finish in the 1650 free with her time of 16:42.64. Sidney Evans followed in sixth at 16:55.21. After Bailey Smith won the B-Final in the 200 back at 2:00.06 and Kim Sembrano took third at 2:01.23, Josephine Marsh (2:00.25) and Cecelia Croman (2:00.43) finished in seventh and eighth, respectively, in the finals.
