Dr. Dave Kashinski of PNE gave the third monthly High-Performance Computing (HPC) brown bag talk that takes place in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (CME). The title of Dr. Kashinski's talk was "Using Supercomputers to Solve Problems in Quantum Chemistry: Determining Global Harmonic Scaling Factors for TPSS, M06, and M11 Functional Families". This talk summarized an article Dr. Kashinski and his collaborators at ARL published in 2017 and gave a preview of where the project is going. DoD-HPCMP has been a strong supporter of Dr. Kashinski's collaboration with ARL since 2014.
