Four Cadets and 1 DFL faculty member viewed the Islamic Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in NYC. The MET houses the most extensive collection of Islamic art objects in the world. Cadets practiced their Arabic and Persian reading skills to interpret manuscripts from around the Islamic world. Afterward Cadets dined at a Ayan, Lebanese restaurant. Cadets used their Arabic to order food and maintained conversation with the waiters in Arabic.
