The most recent article of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) magazine featured an article on the department’s academic flight program. The article, written by current faculty members LTC(P) Rich Melnyk and CPT(P) Drew Curriston, along with former faculty members MAJ Brent Pafford and CPT Dan Brown showcased the department’s use of their Cessna 182 aircraft and the Lakota helicopter as flying laboratories. The article also briefly discussed the rich connection between Aviation and Aeronautical engineering, and West Point. The magazine is widely read in the Army Aviation community. The flight section was also featured in the magazine’s ‘Blue Book’ directory of all Aviation units in the Army for the first time.
